LHE Cadmium Specifications & Plating Process

Low Hydrogen Embrittlement Cadmium (LHE) is deposited from an un-brightened cadmium bath which will allow hydrogen to escape from parts during the hydrogen embrittlement relief bake. Deposits are generally less than .001” thick but will vary with each application.

LHE Cadmium Plating Advantages

The benefits of Low Hydrogen Embrittlement (LHE) include ductility and high strength. It is often a choice for aircraft components as the plating provides excellent corrosion protection without degrading the mechanical properties of high strength steels.

Low Hydrogen Embrittlement Cadmium is Used For:

  • Aircraft Components
  • Commercial Hydraulics
  • Machine Tool Components
  • Engine Components
