Chrome Plating, Inc. - Facility
Overview Page 1 of 2
Our production capabilities for each type of plating process are as follows:
Chrome: 13 tanks with depths to 10 feet and lengths to 34 ft. These are powered by
Rectifiers in sizes from 100 to 12,000 amperes. Our hoist capacities vary from ½ - 5 tons.
Vacuum Cadmium: Our vacuum chamber can handle pieces up to approximately 5 feet long and
2 feet wide. These limits may vary with part geometry.
Low Hydrogen Embrittlement Cadmium: (1) tank 4 feet long and 5 1/2 feet deep powered by a 1 to 500 ampere rectifier. The hoist capacity is 1 ton.
Titanium Cadmium: (1) tank 8 feet long and 5 feet deep powered by a 1 to 500 ampere rectifier. The hoist capacity is 1 ton.
Electroless Nickel: We are set up to process parts generally under 4 feet long or 36" inches in
diameter.
Sulfamate Nickel: (1) tank 5 feet long and 4 feet deep powered by a 1 to 500 ampere rectifier. The hoist capacity is 1 ton.
Zinc Nickel: (1) tank 2 ½ feet square and 3 feet deep powered by a 1 to 500 ampere rectifier. The hoist capacity is 1 ton.
Please note that certain parts may be suspended and/or flipped 180o to accommodate longer parts
in certain tanks.
We also have 6 ovens available for Stress Relief and Hydrogen Embrittlement Relief.
(2) Ovens @ 36H x 36W x 24D Temperature range from 225 o-850o .
(2) Ovens @ 70H x 53W x 72D Temperature range from 225 o-575o .
(1) Oven @ 60H x 36W x 72D Temperature range from 225 o-575o .
(1) Oven @ 70H x 53W x 90D Temperature range from 200 o-400o .
Support Operations:
We do abrasive and glass bead blasting, polishing, welding, cleaning and
vapor degreasing as required to prepare parts for plating. Our tool room fabricates 99% of all the
equipment we need to do a given job, so our delivery schedules can be
maintained. Our transport fleet
includes a 30 foot tractor trailer and a pick up truck.
Inspection Equipment consists of various types of precision measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, bore gages, air gages and electronic measuring instruments for checking plate thickness. We will also use Customer Supplied Gages, provided they show proof of calibration.

Laboratory Equipment is capable of checking the chemical makeup of all plating baths and EPA Requirements, including an Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, a Boeing Hydrogen Detection Instrument and a Cyanide Distillation Unit.
Prime Contractor approvals include: Boeing, Curtiss Wright, Sikorsky Aircraft, and Goodrich, GE, Honeywell, Parker Aerospace.
The following is a partial listing of the types of work processed at Diamond Chrome Plating Industries:
Aircraft Components: Landing Gear Struts, Hydraulic Servo Components, Ball Screws, Pins and Brackets.
Commercial Hydraulics: Piston Rods, cylinders, valve spools, including rework of used components.
Machine Tool Components: Guide Rods, ways, air springs, wear strips, dies, and molds.
Rolls: Smooth and contour faced and also with special textures for steel mills, paper, textiles and plastics.
